Scope of Practice
What My Coaching Includes (and What It Doesn’t)
My work as a dating and relational skills coach focuses on education, skills-building, and personal development, not psychotherapy or clinical treatment.
As your coach, I help you:
-
Clarify your values, needs, and patterns in dating and relationships
-
Build relational skills such as communication, boundaries, emotional awareness, and intentional dating
-
Explore self-concept, confidence, and attachment patterns from a coaching and psychoeducational perspective
-
Practice new ways of showing up in connection through structured reflection, feedback, and skills exercises
-
Create and follow through on practical, realistic plans aligned with your goals for love, connection, and personal growth
I draw on my graduate training as an MSW candidate and clinical intern to inform my understanding of human behavior, relationships, and personal change. However:
-
This coaching practice is separate from my clinical internship and is not psychotherapy.
-
I do not provide mental health diagnosis, treatment for psychiatric conditions, or crisis intervention.
-
Coaching is not a substitute for individual therapy, group therapy, or other mental health services provided by a licensed professional.
If you are currently experiencing severe depression, active suicidal thoughts, psychosis, addiction crises, or other significant mental health concerns, or if you are seeking treatment for trauma or a mental health disorder, I strongly encourage you to work with a licensed mental health professional. I am happy to recommend that you seek out a licensed therapist alongside or instead of coaching, depending on your needs.
Coaching with me is best suited for individuals who:
-
Are generally stable and functioning, but want to grow in how they date, relate, and connect
-
Are interested in reflection, feedback, and structured practice
-
Are ready to take action in their own lives between sessions
My role as a coach is to support and challenge you toward your goals within this non-clinical, coaching framework—while staying within ethical and professional boundaries.
